Plant Pathology PhD Student
University of Wisconsin–Madison
My work focuses on potato disease resistance, pathogen detection, and integrated disease management systems to improve sustainable agriculture.
I am a PhD student in Plant Pathology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, co-advised by Professor Amanda Gevens and Emeritus Professor Caitilyn Allen. My research focuses on potato disease management, particularly silver scurf and bacterial wilt pathosystems.
Originally from Ethiopia, I worked for more than 10 years at the Amhara Agricultural Research Institute conducting laboratory and field-based potato research before joining UW–Madison.
